Forged butt welding flanges generally have lower carbon content than cast flanges and are not easy to rust. Forgings have better streamlined shape, denser structure, and better mechanical properties than cast flanges. During free forging, the shape of the forging is gradually forged from the blank through some basic deformation processes. The basic processes of free forging include upsetting, drawing, punching, bending and cutting. Butt welding flange die forging has high productivity, simple operation, and easy mechanization and automation. Die forgings have high dimensional accuracy, small machining allowance, and more reasonable fiber structure distribution of forgings, which can further improve the service life of parts.
1 Flange maintenance In daily use, attention should be paid to waterproof and moisture-proof to reduce sunlight. In case of rainy season, wipe off the stained water in time after the rain stops. It is best not to place a humidifier or dry wet clothes around the cast iron flange, and at the same time avoid direct sunlight outside the window to prevent the metal from oxidizing and deteriorating or the surface from fading and rusting.
2 Do not use acid and alkali to remove rust. Try to avoid splashing acid and alkali water (such as sulfuric acid, vinegar, methine, soapy water, soda water, etc.) that has a corrosive effect on iron. The stain should be cleaned up immediately, and then wiped with a dry cotton cloth. In order to prevent the metal from rusting, you can regularly use a cotton cloth dipped in a small amount of anti-rust oil or sewing machine oil to wipe the surface part to keep the flange as bright as new. If it is found that the flange has begun to have rust spots, you should apply cotton yarn dipped in engine oil to the rust as soon as possible, so that the rust can be removed, instead of directly sanding with sandpaper and other rough surface materials.
3. Wipe with a soft cloth to prevent scratching. The carbon steel flange should be regularly dipped in a small amount of anti-rust oil. It is best to use a pure cotton cloth to wipe gently. For the rust in the depression, you can brush it off along the gap with a soft wool brush. Place the flange piece in a place where other hard objects are not often touched, try to avoid external force bumps, let alone hit and knock with hard objects, which will cause the outer skin to dent and the chrome layer to fall off.
